Biography

My name’s Tess. I’m your typical teenage nerd. I study hard, do my homework, and pull off good marks. I’m more then that though. I am a competitive horse back rider who competes in jumping and part-boards two horses, Kane and Reagan. I am also a writer and avid reader. I love music and play the flute and French horn in my school concert band. I have an average sized family that contains of my mother and two brothers. Besides the nerdy focussed school girl that everyone knows me as, I’m also a girl that loves to dance to loud music and is often found chilling with my brothers and singing my heart out on rock band. Well, that’s me… or at least some of me.

Beliefs on Education

I use to have very strong beliefs in education. I use to believe that without an education you were nothing, without a piece of paper to back your name you were less then the rest. I don’t believe that anymore. I think that education is important and something to be valued but just because you have less education does not mean you are less. Personally, I hope to go to university and get a degree because I think that if I want a high quality of life I need too. I don’t think it should be that way though, and I don’t believe in the way university works. In university you are taught to regurgitate the words of others and are given a signed peace of paper that states you can memorize what someone tells you. Fine, memorize it but don’t always believe it. I love to learn and would like to continue to learn and further my education as much as I can but I would like to learn through questions and not statements.

Future Goals

My future goals always seem to change. They come and go, twist and turn, but I guess for now I can tell you my current future goals. I aspire to get a part-time job before I turn seventeen and want to become a horse back riding coach when I turn sixteen. I would like to compete in the 3’6 jumpers while I’m still a junior and graduate from university. I would also like to publish at least one book in my life time and make at least one life long friend. Many goals are already in the works though. For example, I think I already have more then one life long friend although only time will tell and I’m already planning out steps to jumping 3’6 and coaching. I guess only time will tell what is to come true.
